Annika Sorenstam's retirement

Annika broke 60-holes barrier in 2001, playing a 59-hole tournament at Standard Register Ping. Annika was invited by the PGA Tour to play in Colonial's 2003 tournament. She became the first female to compete in a PGA Tour event, since 1945. She also won the Vare Trophy and seven U.S. Women's Open events.

Kingsmill is not in the 2022 schedule
The 2022 LPGA Tour schedule does not include the Kingsmill Resort. LPGA events have been held at Kingsmill's James River Golf Course since 2003. The event was initially scheduled for 2021. But, Pure Silk pulled out at the end the year. It is unclear what the future holds for the James River course. For now, Kingsmill is in the market for a new title sponsor.
