Despite the fact that the Chicago Sky were silent during the most recent WNBA drafts (which were held on March 7th), local players were selected in the first round. The Dallas Wings selected Veronica Burton from Northwestern as the seventh overall selection. The Dallas Wings selected her seventh overall pick. She averaged 17.8 point, 5.5 rebound, 6.4 assists, and four steals per season. She even reached double figures during the Big Ten tournament. The Phoenix Mercury also drafted Maya Dodson, Notre Dame's forward.
Trades
The Sky made some moves this offseason to increase their roster. They exchanged several players for draft picks. Alaina coates was traded to Minnesota while Kaitlinou Samuelson and Astou Nedour were acquired from Dallas. Additionally, they traded their 16th selection in the 2021 Draft for a second round pick in 2022.

Fan base
The Chicago Sky enjoy a strong fan base that celebrates their accomplishments and works to improve the city. Thousands of Sky supporters turned out to celebrate the team's 2015 WNBA championship. The parade shut down downtown and took over Chicago Park. This was a heartwarming community celebration and a great way to build community spirit.
