After back-to-back losses, Claudia Gadelha has now reached an agreement with Michelle Waterson to fight in a main event at UFC 233. It will take place in New York City, on June 10. Waterson will be Waterson’s 3rd UFC fight. Waterson is also the first Black woman who will headline the UFC. Hill and Waterson were reunited at Invicta FC in May.
The ringside judges are split on whether Hill or Waterson is better. Hill currently has a two inch reach advantage and is the better striker. A rematch between former UFC women's champ Michelle Waterson and aspiring star Jessica Penne is highly anticipated for fans of mixed martial arts. Penne called Waterson’s win over her last mois a "fluke", but the Canadian veteran said that she would be glad to fight her once again. Waterson said that her win was not accidental and that she would be happy to prove it.
Penne fought Jessica Andrade in MMA earlier this year and lost via TKO in round 2. In the same year, she fought Danielle Taylor at featherweight and lost unanimously. Invicta FC strawweight champion Emily Ducote is Penne's opponent in her next bout.
Araya Sage Gomez
Michelle Waterson is fighting Araya Sage, Gomez if you haven’t heard. They met at a Hooters Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gomez’s parents drove up from El Paso, to watch a Cowboys match. Gomez and his family sat down under a large poster of Waterson dressed in a Hooters uniform. Gomez explained to his mother, "She was going be my future wife." They looked on as she took their order, laughing. Gomez's parents were hesitant to approach her, though, and they never spoke to her.
Michelle Waterson
Michelle Waterson was a former ring-girl and made a big splash on MTV/MTV2's reality show Bully Beatdown. She also has some interesting career paths. She had previously participated in the MTV reality show "American Ninja Warrior", but was not able to qualify. Waterson took part in a stunt contest for Natalie Portman’s 2014 film "Thor". After a few weeks, Waterson decided to switch to MMA. Invicta FC Atomweight champion was her goal. Waterson submitted Tyra Park with a rear-naked choke submission during her first professional fight. In 2008, Waterson also competed in MTV's "Fight Mom" reality show and fought for the special "Champions vs. Stars mini-series."
