The Chevron Championship is the LPGA's new major title. It will be held at the Carlton Woods Golf Course. The tournament will be held at The Club at Carlton Woods' Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. It runs from April 20 through 23. The tournament is part a five-year agreement. It will also be televised live at NBC Sports.
The course was open for play since 2001. It is famous for its undulating greens that are protected by bunkers. It hosted the U.S. Open in 2014. The U.S. Junior Amateur was hosted there in 2014. Will Zalatoris won it. It has hosted qualifying rounds for both the U.S. Open event and the LPGA Tour event. It was also home to the Mission Hills Tournament in Rancho Miro California. Jennifer Kupcho was the winner of that event.
Carlton Woods offers a strong junior golf program
Carlton Woods is renowned for its strong junior golf program. The HP Boys Championship has been hosted by Tiger Woods (pictured), Rickie Foller (pictured), and David Duval (pictured). The event is invitation-only and raises money for grassroots junior golf groups. Over $44,000 has been donated to local schools and charities over the three-year period by the HP Boys Championship. The AJGA awarded awards last year for the best media coverage and charitable giving.

Carlton Woods is a top golf resort and hosts the 2014 U.S. Amateur. Junior Amateur. The Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course will host the championship. It features contoured greens, deep bunkering and frontal water hazards. It is also a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The certification has been renewed every year since 2003. The club's junior program is a hit with amateur and novice golfers alike.
Louise Suggs created the LPGA
Louise Suggs is the founder of the LPGA. It's a tour for female golfers that competes at major championships. Suggs, her two partners, helped to establish the organization. They also organized tournaments and established rules. They also promoted teaching clinics.
Suggs participated in a 72-hole tournament in West Palm Beach, Florida, back when he was just 21 years old. Suggs competed against other LPGA/PGA professionals in this tournament.

The Women's PGA Championship has five majors. It is well-known for being played at the same golf courses as the men's majors. Since 1955 when the event was first held, it has not missed one year. In fact, 11 of those years were played at Wilmington’s DuPont Golf Club. McDonald's was named the title sponsor in 1994.
