This week, the U.S. women’s team announced Carli Lloyd's retirement. The USWNT has been grieving the loss. Carli Lloyd, who has been with the team 15 years, played in five World Cups and won three. She will be missed but not forgotten. She was married in November 2016, shortly after the Olympics, and she has since remarried to Brian Hollins. She was substituted in the 66th minutes of her last match, which was against South Korea. As she left the field, she received a standing ovation and removed her cleats as well as her jersey that bore her husband's name.
