This week, the U.S. women’s team announced Carli Lloyd's retirement. The USWNT has been grieving the loss. Carli Lloyd has been with the team for 15 years and played in five World Cups, winning three. She will be missed but not forgotten. She was married in November 2016, shortly after the Olympics, and she has since remarried to Brian Hollins. She was substituted in the 66th minutes of her last match, which was against South Korea. She was greeted with a standing ovation as she left the field.
