American Olympians -- Katie Uhlaender, Alex Mazdzer, Mikaela Schiffrin & More

women in sports history

Uhlaender is one of the most sincere and forthright athletes I know. And few are so candid about their disappointing finishes. It is admirable to observe a woman keep her cool and remain composed. This trait is important not only for her athletic performance, but also for us all. We'll be looking at her achievements in different sliding sports. We also have information about Chen (the top female speed skater) and Shiffrin (the top female skier in slalom).

Uhlaender is American's only woman who has won a medal in five of the sliding sports

Katie Uhlaender from Central Texas is 37 and has dedicated her career to the sport. She is one of four Team USA athletes who qualified to compete in her fifth Winter Olympics. The skeleton event is an endurance and speed-based event. Uhlaender has participated in five Winter Olympics. This makes her one of only a few women who have been able to win a medal in that sport. She is the only American woman who has competed in five of the Winter Olympics' sliding events, despite being nearly thwarted by COVID.

Mazdzer is America's only man to win a single luge medal

Alex Mazdzer won the silver medal in PyeongChang. It is the highest American men's single luge finish at an Olympic Games. Mazdzer's performance in PyeongChang was better than any other USA Luge competitor. He didn't claim to the be the favorite but he believes he can run four clean races in PyeongChang. For the four years that Mazdzer has been competing, he relied on his mental side for medals.

Shiffrin, the female slalom champion, is Shiffrin

Even though Mikaela has only just turned 20 and is not a great performer in Super-Gs, she has already established herself as a star in the sport. Shiffrin won the first round against Slovakia and finished her first slalom race. However, she fell short of the podium in the next two races against Germany, Italy and Norway. Still, she finished all three races and congratulated her teammates. She was also the first woman in Olympic history to compete for all six Alpine events. Petra Vlhova (Czech Republic) achieved this feat in 2018.

Chock and Bates have competed together since 2011

Chock, and Bates are competitors together since 2011. They've been winning since their 2011 meeting and have enjoyed some success. They were sixth in the 2017 World Championships after competing at the Grand Prix Final. Chock was second, and Bates was first at U.S. Championships. Out of their World Championships success, Chock and Bates won the U.S. Championships a total of eight times.

Moses' involvement in future athletes

Moses' involvement in American sports is due to several reasons. He studied at Pepperdine University and founded The Platinum Group, which represents world-class athletes in business ventures. Moses also serves as a selection officer for the National Academy of Sciences and as a member of President's Circle. He also serves the President's Commission on White House Fellowships as a commissioner and was elected into the executive committee for the U.S. Olympic Committee.
