If you are a woman who likes to play basketball, Diana Taurasi and Breanna Stewart probably rank high on your list. But is there anyone else on the list? Courtney Vandersloot or Elena Delle Donne are also on the list. While you'll need to make your own decisions about these players, I've put together a list of the top 10 female basketball players.

Diana Taurasi

Diana Taurasi is the best WNBA player. Here are some examples of her resume. An impressive collection of trophies has been accumulated by this All-Star, including the MVP award and scoring title. Diana has won three championships and two Finals MVP Awards. She also received 14 All-WNBA selections. This makes her one of best players in the league.

Breanna Stewart

The Seattle Storm are back in the Finals for the 2nd consecutive year. Breanna Stearn is one of the top players in the WNBA. The two-time Finals MVP was in the MVP conversation coming out of the Olympic Games in 2016, and by the time she rolled back from an Achilles injury to win the title, she was widely considered the best player in the league. After winning the 2018 WNBA championship, she was named league MVP and Finals MVP.

Courtney Vandersloot

In 2021, Vandersloot helped the Seattle Sky return to the playoffs after missing four years due to the departure of Elena Delle Donne. In that season, she averaged 8.6 assist per game and was the league's leader in that category. In 2014 and 2015 she led the league in assists/game and was the first WNBA participant to average more then nine assists per-game. She was also the league’s best player for points per minute. Vandersloot averaging 10.2 assists per contest in the playoffs.

Elena Delle Donne

There will be much debate among women about whether Elena Delle Donne is the greatest WLBA player. But the evidence is strong. The ex-Duke star had an historic season in Washington. She became the first WNBA athlete to shoot more than 50% from the court. In addition, she also shot above 40% from behind the 3-point line. Her shooting percentage was so impressive, she won the MVP for both her team and another. Her performance helped the Mystics to finish first in league play and win the playoffs. Her performances earned her 12 votes.

Allie Quigley

Allie Quigley's talent and intelligence in women’s basketball is unmatched. Her mental toughness as well as intelligence make her a valuable player. She once hit the game-winning shot as a Chicago Sky player in the playoffs. Quigley ran to the basket but was immediately surrounded and defended by two other players. She quickly used the momentum of her defenders against her to pull up for a midrange jumper. She took the shot and pulled up to fire elbow-toelbow.

Tamika Captings

Tamika Catchings has amassed a tremendous amount of stats over her career. This makes her one of the best players within the WNBA. She is the leader in steals, and third in career point with 7,380. She was also awarded WNBA Player-of-the Year and three other league awards. Catchings is one of the most decorated players in the WNBA and is destined to be inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.
