Uhlaender is American's only woman who has won a medal in five of the sliding sports
Katie Uhlaender, 37-year-old from Central Texas has dedicated her life and career to the sport. She is one among four Team USA competitors who will be competing at her fifth Winter Olympics. The skeleton event combines strength and speed. Uhlaender was a participant in five Winter Olympics. That makes her one among the few women to have won a gold medal in that event. She is the only American woman who has competed in five of the Winter Olympics' sliding events, despite being nearly thwarted by COVID.
Mazdzer, the American only man to have won a single medal in luge, is unbeaten
Alex Mazdzer earned a Silver Medal in PyeongChang. That is the highest medal ever won by an American man in single lame at an Olympic Games. Mazdzer won a silver medal in PyeongChang. However, his performance was equal to the best in USA Luge's past. He didn't claim to the be the favorite but he believes he can run four clean races in PyeongChang. For the four years that Mazdzer has been competing, he relied on his mental side for medals.
Shiffrin, the female slalom champion, is Shiffrin
Despite her young age and lackluster performance in the Super-G, Mikaela Shiffrin has already made a name for herself in the sport. In the opening round against Slovakia, Shiffrin took the top spot and completed her first slalom run. However, she fell short of the podium in the next two races against Germany, Italy and Norway. She still finished all three races and congratulated the other athletes. She was also the first woman in Olympic history to compete for all six Alpine events. Petra Vlhova (Czech Republic) achieved this feat in 2018.
Since 2011, Chock & Bates have competed together
Chock, and Bates are competitors together since 2011. Since their meeting in 2011, they have been a winning team and have had some success. They were sixth in the 2017 World Championships after competing at the Grand Prix Final. Chock and Bates placed second and first respectively at the U.S. Championships. The pair have won the U.S. Championships eight consecutive times, in addition to their World Championships wins.
Moses' involvement in future athletes
Moses' involvement in American sports is due to several reasons. He was a Pepperdine University student and co-founded The Platinum Group, which represents elite athletes in business ventures. Moses is a member of The President's Circle as well as a selector of the National Academy of Sciences. He is also a commissioner to the President's Commission on White House Fellowships.
